气膜煤仓是通过加压设备往经过密封处理的室内空间进行送风加压，在气膜表面形成巨大的张力而支撑起来的结构。即使漏气，也不会出现立刻倒塌现象，气膜建筑的上部结构下落到距离地面2米高度所需要的时间大约30分钟，有充足的时间保证在气膜煤仓内工作的人员从容地疏散。 而且气膜煤棚一旦出现破损漏气问题，系统便会立即发送警报，通知维护人员。并且系统也会自动控制风机加大送风量，保证膜结构内外气压平衡直至场馆修复完毕。
