气膜体育馆是气膜技术在体育领域的革新与创新，它解决了传统气膜场馆建馆的一些弊端，延续了气膜体育场馆的构建原理，去繁就简，整个构成更为简单，只需要气膜建筑膜材、组合式钢索网系统、可移动风机、智能化电机设备等材料，省去土建等建设过程。
气膜采用高性能的建筑膜材做为建筑“外壳”，由一套智能化的机电设备向气膜建筑内部送风并形成正压，通过室内外的气压差将“外壳”支撑起来，形成建筑物主体，室内无需任何框架或梁柱支撑。
气膜结构建筑是集建筑学、建构力学、材料学等技术为一体，建造出有标志性的空间结构形式。是经过复杂的受力分析、裁剪设计而成的膜结构外壳和智能机电设备共同组成的新型建筑。
